Fuze HR is proud to partner with a locally-owned, leading chemical distribution company in Seattle seeking a reliable and safety-focused Sitdown Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and distribution operations. This individual will be responsible for handling materials, preparing shipments, maintaining inventory, and safely operating warehouse equipment, including a sit-down forklift. This is a partially outdoor environment, so you must be comfortable working outside in any weather elements.
The ideal candidate has previous warehouse experience, takes pride in maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments safely and efficiently.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, load, and organize materials throughout the warehouse.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming products and materials.
- Move, stack, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing products for transportation.
- Handle drums, containers, totes, and other materials in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Understand and participate with the pH monitoring opening/closing of vault valve daily log
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including appropriate handling requirements for warehouse materials and chemical products.
- Inspect forklifts and other equipment before use and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist with general warehouse duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, distribution, shipping/receiving, or material handling environment.
- Previous experience operating a sit-down forklift is required.
- Ability to safely move and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Experience with Tank Bays and Rail Spur Transloading Operations is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and work in an active warehouse environment.
