Duties
- Assist with meal planning and food preparation to ensure timely, appealing, and nutritious offerings for residents
- Support the dietary team in cooking and food handling activities, adhering to all safety and sanitation protocols
- Serve meals with professionalism and kindness, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents
- Help with kitchen organization, including cleaning, stocking supplies, and maintaining hygiene standards
- Follow food safety guidelines during meal preparation, handling, and storage to prevent contamination
- Contribute to catering events or special meal services as needed, supporting the overall food service operations
- Support dietary department staff with daily tasks to ensure smooth workflow and resident satisfaction
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary services or food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant worker, or kitchen staff
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation techniques
- Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on food safety and proper handling procedures
- Excellent food service skills with a friendly approach to serving residents or guests
- Proficiency in knife skills and basic culinary techniques for efficient food prep
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
