Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to manage a diverse civil litigation caseload across construction litigation, insurance defense, bankruptcy, and employment litigation. The successful candidate will represent clients in courtroom and alternative dispute resolution settings, handle all aspects of case development from investigation through trial, and provide clear, strategic legal advice to obtain favorable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a full civil litigation caseload from intake through resolution, including client intake, factual investigation, and case strategy development.

Draft and file complaints, answers, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements in state and federal courts.

Conduct discovery, prepare and respond to written discovery, organize and take depositions, and coordinate with expert witnesses.

Prepare for and conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations; present oral arguments and examine witnesses effectively.

Negotiate settlements and defense strategies with opposing counsel, insurers, and parties to achieve optimal client outcomes.

Advise clients on litigation risk, case valuation, and potential non-litigation solutions including wills, trusts, and probate issues when intertwined with disputes.

Handle matters involving construction litigation, surety law, and related bond and contract disputes.

Provide insurance defense representation, including coverage analysis and coordination with insurers and claims teams.

Collaborate with partners, junior attorneys, and paralegals to manage deadlines, docketing, and client communications.

Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and stay current on developments in litigation practice areas relevant to client matters.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.

Minimum of 2+ years of civil litigation experience; demonstrated courtroom and motion practice experience preferred.

Proven experience and working knowledge in one or more of the following: Litigation, Personal Injury, Probate, Wills, Trusts, Business Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Construction Litigation, Construction law, Insurance Defense, Surety Law, Bankruptcy, Employment Litigation, Family Law, and Business Law.

Strong written and oral advocacy skills with a track record of effective negotiation and settlement advocacy.

Experience managing complex case files, discovery, and coordinating with experts and third parties.

Excellent legal research and drafting skills; familiarity with state and federal civil procedure and evidence rules.

Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and maintain superior client service and communication.

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a firm, mentoring junior attorneys and supervising support staff.

Proficiency with e-filing systems, case management software, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with trial presentation tools a plus.
