Yard Attendant
Lincoln Industrial is hiring a reliable and safety-focused Equipment Loader / Yard Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for the safe handling, loading, unloading, and movement of construction equipment within the yard and shipping/receiving areas. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors, operating heavy equipment, and supporting daily yard operations in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Pay: $20–$21/hour
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload construction equipment from trailers and railcars for receiving, storage, and shipment purposes
- Operate various types of construction and material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform equipment movements including driving, backing, lifting, tilting, raising, and lowering attachments as needed
- Read and interpret shipping and receiving documentation including bills of lading, manifests, tally sheets, shipping orders, and export paperwork
- Verify serial numbers, piece counts, and equipment condition for all inbound and outbound shipments
- Scale and inspect preloaded trailers, including gross weight, axle weights, and overall road readiness
- Operate hand tools commonly used in yard and loading activities, including air wrenches, banding machines, hammers, and related equipment
- Assist with general mechanical duties and equipment support as needed
- Maintain compliance with all company safety procedures and policies
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety standards
Qualifications
- Current valid driver’s license required
- Previous experience operating construction or heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to work safely in an industrial yard environment
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools effectively
- Ability to lift, move, and work around heavy equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately complete shipping/receiving tasks
- Dependable, team-oriented, and safety conscious
Schedule
- Full-time
- Overtime may be available based on workload and operational needs
