Job Purpose
The Finance Accounting Officer is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Company's accounting records and financial reporting under IFRS. This role requires an experienced accounting professional with extensive knowledge of the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, inventory accounting, internal controls, corporate governance, cash flow management, audit coordination, and business process improvement within distribution, wholesale, retail, or supply chain environments. The position partners closely with operations and finance leadership to ensure accurate reporting, safeguarding of assets, effective working capital management, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.
- Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and reconcile key balance sheet accounts.
- Analyse financial results and investigate material variances against budgets and prior periods.
- Establish and maintain effective financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support and strengthen corporate governance practices and risk management processes.
- Coordinate activities related to internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Oversee inventory accounting, inventory valuations, cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliations between operational systems and the General Ledger.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, obsolete inventory, damages, and stock adjustments.
- Partner with warehouse, distribution, procurement, and operations teams to improve inventory control processes.
- Monitor cash inflows and outflows and prepare rolling cash flow forecasts.
- Support working capital management initiatives relating to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and inventory optimization.
- Prepare financial analyses, KPIs, and management reports to support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
- Provide technical accounting guidance and support across the organization.
- Any other related duties assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience within distribution, wholesale, retail, logistics, FMCG, or supply chain organizations.
- Strong practical knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements.
- Proven experience in inventory accounting and internal controls.
- Experience in cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP system knowledge.
- Experience working with external auditors and regulatory compliance requirements.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
