Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a CDL Interstate Driver specializing in Car Hauler operations! Duties
- Operate tractor-trailer units equipped with flatbed or specialized car hauler trailers to transport vehicles over interstate routes
- Safely load and unload automobiles using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing and compliance with safety standards
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to adhere to designated routes and delivery schedules
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, hazardous materials regulations (if applicable), and FMCSA guidelines during all operations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to identify potential issues before departure and upon arrival
- Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, logs, and inspection reports
- Maintain communication with dispatchers regarding route progress, delays, or incidents to ensure smooth logistics flow
Qualifications
- Valid CDL license with a clean driving record; experience with interstate driving routes preferred
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with automobile transportation or freight delivery
- Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including manual handling and securing loads on flatbed or car hauler trailers
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations (if applicable), and safety protocols for dangerous goods
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle tractor-trailer units safely
- Strong attention to detail for vehicle inspections, cargo handling, and documentation accuracy
- Excellent driving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety and customer service
