Fire Extinguisher Manager
Location: Northern Indiana (South Bend / Valparaiso)
Reports To: Regional Vice President
Position Overview
This position leads fire extinguisher operations at the branch level, managing day-to-day service, scheduling, inventory, and customer pricing. This is a working manager role, the right candidate will be hands-on in the field alongside any technicians while the division grows, with the expectation of building out the team over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and oversee extinguisher inspections and service using scheduling software, ensuring work is completed efficiently and accurately
- Perform field and shop work as needed as a working manager during the division's growth phase
- Ensure technicians complete paperwork timely and accurately
- Manage shop stock inventory; keep shop area clean and organized
- Oversee purchasing of parts and equipment; maintain an efficient ordering process for the branch
- Ensure service equipment and fleet vehicles are properly maintained, organized, and stocked with appropriate inventory
- Quote new extinguisher installations for construction projects and manage those projects through completion
- Interview, hire, and onboard field and shop personnel as the division grows
- Implement required training for extinguisher technicians
- Set and manage service pricing; review and adjust in coordination with Account Managers for existing and prospective inspection customers
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong leader and communicator with the ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and make sound decisions independently
- Comfortable in a working manager capacity with a growth mindset toward building a team
- Experience with P&L management or operational budgeting
Required Experience
- Hands-on experience as an extinguisher technician or in managing extinguisher technicians
- Working knowledge of NFPA 10
