Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework, college credits, or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field is preferred.
- NC Early Childhood Credential, CDA, or other early childhood certifications are a plus.
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children, preferrably in a childcare or school setting.
- A heart for children, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are essential.
Position Overview
Most new team members begin with a paid, in-depth online training process as well as shadowing in a classroom prior to officially starting a Part Time Assistant Teacher role. This allows you to become familiar with our classrooms, routines, and expectations while providing support throughout the center.
Scheduling Expectations
Our center is open Monday–Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, so flexibility during our operating hours is important.
Assistant teachers can generally expect to work approximately 27–30 hours per week, with schedules that may include shifts such as:
- 7:30 AM–12:00 PM or 2:00 PM
- 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM–6:00 PM
After 90 days, opportunities for Lead Teacher positions and more consistent scheduling may become available based on performance, reliability, attendance, and accountability.
Applicants with limited or restricted availability are welcome to apply; however, we cannot guarantee a fixed schedule. Team members with limited availability may be scheduled on an as-needed basis in a substitute capacity to help meet staffing needs throughout the center.
