The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for protecting the organization’s information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role focuses on monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents across the enterprise environment, including network, wireless, VoIP, and cloud-based systems.
Under the direction of the Operation/Network Manager, the Cybersecurity Specialist ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems by implementing and maintaining security controls, conducting threat assessments, and enforcing organizational security policies and standards.

- Creates an environment that supports exceptional guest service while ensuring all systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with organizational standards.
- Monitors network traffic, firewall activity, and security systems to identify and respond to suspicious or anomalous behavior.
- Implements and maintains cybersecurity tools, including firewalls, endpoint protection, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
- Conducts vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and penetration testing to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Develops, maintains, and enforces cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Leads incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery from cybersecurity events.
- Maintains and tests disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to cybersecurity incidents.
- Collaborates with IT and corporate teams to ensure secure implementation of infrastructure, systems, and applications.
- Provides security guidance during system implementations, upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including Tribal Gaming, state, and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Performs regular security audits and assessments to evaluate system effectiveness and compliance.
- Maintains up-to-date documentation of security architecture, processes, and incident response procedures.
- Educates team members on cybersecurity best practices, awareness, and threat prevention.
- Supports secure network design, including segmentation, access controls, and identity management.
- Coordinates with vendors and third parties to ensure adherence to organizational security standards.
- Maintains a clean, secure, and organized workspace, ensuring proper handling of sensitive information.

- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical security concepts in business-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated with strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Proven problem-solving and incident response capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Must hold or be able to obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local cybersecurity laws, regulations, and standards.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as operational needs require.
- Strong technical knowledge of cybersecurity tools and platforms, including firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), SIEM, and vulnerability management systems.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and secure architectures.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related IT roles.
- Experience with threat detection, incident response, and security operations.
- Familiarity with gaming and hospitality systems is highly preferred.
- Understanding of identity access management (IAM), encryption methods, and data protection standards.
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, or similar platforms) is a plus.
- Casino environment is fast-paced, high-volume, and may include exposure to noise, secondhand smoke, and constant public interaction.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, tact, and composure in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments.
- Flexible scheduling is required to support 24/7 operations and incident response needs.
