Job Summary:
The Engineering Supervisor is a first-line leader who supervises the day-to-day work of a team of design engineers and electrical engineers while also performing hands-on design work on complex industrial compressor solutions. This role balances approximately 30% supervisory responsibility and 70% design responsibility, ensuring engineering work conforms to company specifications, project timelines, and quality expectations. The Engineering Supervisor provides work direction, coaching, performance feedback, and technical guidance to the team while supporting department goals and customer projects under the direction of the Corporate Engineering Manager. They shall have advanced knowledge of industrial air compressor systems, be able to work with minimal supervision, and represent Rogers Machinery core values.
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide day-to-day leadership for a team of design engineers and electrical engineers, including assigning and delegating work, balancing priorities and workload, and monitoring progress against project timelines.
- Perform hands-on engineering design work for complex industrial compressor systems, including component drawings, 2D drawings and schematics, and 3D system models based on customer and project requirements.
- Oversee and support the preparation of product assembly drawings, electrical schematics, P&ID drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation across new and sustaining product lines.
- Review and approve drawings, design releases, engineering changes, and related documentation prior to release.
- Conduct performance reviews, support goal setting, provide coaching, and address employee performance issues in coordination with the Engineering Manager.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding engineers, and support the development of team capability and succession strength.
- Lead standard product design activities for key customer programs and support cross-functional coordination with production, sales, and other internal stakeholders.
- Support department KPI performance by helping the team meet expectations for schedule, quality, throughput, and engineering execution.
- Promote engineering best practices, standard work, and process improvements as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Additional Job Duties:
- Support daily production, commissioning, and field troubleshooting activities as needed.
- Serve as an occasional technical point of contact for customer programs, complex projects, and escalated field support matters.
- Provide support for sales orders, cost estimates, design consultation, and installations.
- Define components to support product modifications, add-ons, retro kits, sequencers, and alternate part options to address shortages or cost savings initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members and support departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, BSME preferred, and 7+ years of relevant mechanical and electrical system design integration experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in a lead engineer, team lead, or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated experience assigning and prioritizing engineering work, coaching and developing team members, conducting performance reviews, and supporting hiring and onboarding activities.
- Advanced experience specifying mechanical, electrical, and communications solutions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 10% to job sites.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced 3D solid modeling expertise, large assembly management and development of detailed drawings (CREO/Windchill and Microstation experience preferred)
- Advanced knowledge in fabrication and assembly procedures, tools, and techniques
- Advanced with electrical controls/components, 4-20mA signals, 480VAC power wiring, 120VAC control, 24VDC control, and HMIs controls.
- Able to perform hands on field mechanical and electrical system trouble shooting.
- Comfortable in a fast paced, rapid change environment; multi-task projects.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on customer care.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Physical Demands:
- Exert force of 25-50 lbs. occasionally.
- Long periods of time sitting at computer/desk.
- Ability to wear PPE and be on a manufacturing floor occasionally

Pay Range:
- $105,000 - $120,000 annually
