Job Overview
Our client, a growing commercial and industrial solar company based in Texas, is looking to bring on a number of exceptional Apprentice Electricians with utility-scale solar experience to support a number projects in the region. This role is a full-time position with our client.
Job Responsibilities
- Travelling to project sites in Central Pennsylvania
- Working under the direct supervision and direction of a Journeyman Electrician
- Assisting with pulling heavy-gauge DC and medium-voltage cables through trenches, conduit, or messenger wires
- Managing and plugging in solar module strings and installing wire clips to secure wires neatly to the racking system
- Assisting in the mechanical assembly and electrical mounting of combiner boxes, string inverters, and tracker components
- Helping perform open-circuit voltage and insulation resistance testing
- Hand-torquing structural and electrical connections to manufacturer specifications and applying torque marks for QA/QC inspection
- Reading and interpretnig basic electrical schematics, civil blueprints, and manufacturers' installation manuals
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper inventory tracking of tools and materials
- Strictly adhering to all site safety standards, including OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E compliance, and proper PPE usage.
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- Previous AC utility-scale and/or commercial solar installation experience
- Extensive knowledge of IRC, IFC, and NEC
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
- Communication, collaboration, and detail-orientation skills
