Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Optometrist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnoses, and treatments. You will work closely with patients of all ages, utilizing advanced medical equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems to deliver exceptional care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations using medical equipment such as tonometry devices to measure intraocular pressure and assess eye health.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of ocular conditions, including those related to ophthalmology, pediatrics, and general health issues affecting vision.
- Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, or other vision aids tailored to individual patient needs.
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive measures, and proper use of medical equipment while ensuring excellent customer service.
- Perform medical procedures such as refractions, slit-lamp examinations, and aseptic techniques during minor treatments or procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals for complex cases requiring specialized ophthalmology or medical treatment interventions.
- Maintain detailed medical records, monitor vital signs when necessary, and ensure the proper operation of all medical equipment in accordance with safety standards.
- Provide care to all follow-up and post-op patients after surgery
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as an Optometrist with current certification to practice in the designated region.
- Proven experience in optical settings with strong knowledge of ophthalmology principles and physiology knowledge related to eye anatomy and function.
- Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive eye exams including tonometry and other diagnostic tests.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare diagnosis procedures, and aseptic techniques for safe practice.
- Ability to operate various medical equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
- Exceptional communication skills combined with customer service expertise to educate patients effectively about their eye health.
