About the Role:
Newtown Fireplace Shop is looking for a skilled and dependable Fireplace Service Technician to join our team in Newtown, PA! In this hands-on role, you'll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fireplaces safe, efficient, and beautiful. Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on gas, wood-burning, and electric fireplace systems
- Diagnose and troubleshoot fireplace and chimney issues to ensure safe and proper operation
- Install fireplace inserts, gas logs, and related components per manufacturer specifications
- Conduct chimney cleaning, venting inspections, and flue assessments
- Communicate findings and service recommendations clearly to customers
- Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines
Requirements:
- Prior experience in fireplace service, HVAC, chimney sweeping, or a related trade preferred
- Knowledge of gas, wood-burning, and/or electric fireplace systems
- NFI (National Fireplace Institute) certification is a plus
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage a schedule, and prioritize tasks efficiently
