Overview
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our company-owned fleet of heavy construction equipment, commercial trucks, pickups, trailers, and small equipment.
This position is ideal for an experienced mechanic with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills who is comfortable working on a wide variety of equipment. We are looking for someone who can identify the root cause of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and complete repairs efficiently with minimal supervision.
Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

Duties
- Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment including excavators, loaders, skid steers, telehandlers, and other construction equipment
- Diagnose and repair dump trucks and other commercial trucks
- Maintain and repair company pickups, trailers, small equipment, and tools
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, engine, transmission, air brake, HVAC, and starting/charging system issues
- Use diagnostic software, scan tools, wiring diagrams, schematics, and service information to accurately identify problems
- Perform preventive maintenance including oil and filter changes, fluid services, inspections, brakes, tires, and scheduled maintenance
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, hoses, fittings, cylinders, and related components
- Perform brake, suspension, steering, cooling system, and drivetrain repairs
- Perform welding and fabrication as needed
- Conduct equipment inspections to identify problems before they result in breakdowns or excessive downtime
- Perform field diagnostics and repairs when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed
- Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and parts requirements with management
- Safely operate equipment for diagnostic and testing purposes
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous professional experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, truck, or fleet mechanic required
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with construction equipment and commercial trucks strongly preferred
- Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and technical information
- Ability to independently diagnose problems and determine the proper repair
- Experience with diagnostic software and scan tools
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Must have basic mechanic hand tools
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL is a plus, but not required
