Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and group tutoring sessions focused on Elementary and Middle School level courses including math, reading comprehension, comprehensive writing and general homework help.
- Utilize innovative learning technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and engagement
- Assess student progress regularly through practice and progression assessments, adjusting approaches as needed
- Support course specific class work and homework by helping to develop relevant skills.
- Collaborate with students to set achievable goals and track their improvement over time
- Stay current with curriculum changes and incorporate relevant updates into supporting materials
Qualifications
- Experience in tutoring or teaching with learners at all levels of k-8 academic progression
- Knowledge of academic content areas—particularly reading, comprehension, writing skills, as well as basic and advanced math.
- Understanding of curriculum standards and standardize testing support
- Familiarity with learning technology tools used for online or classroom instruction
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly
- Foster an inclusive and motivating learning environment
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs and learning styles
