MiTek Designers- Wall Panels
Job Summary
Structural Building Solutions is seeking Wall Panel designers to join our team. As a designer, you will design and detail wall panel systems for residential and commercial construction projects. Your duties will include creating panel layouts from construction documents and analyzing structural components using engineering software. You will support projects from initial design through production and coordinate closely with sales and manufacturing teams. Some training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Design high-quality wall panel systems for residential and commercial projects.
- Read and interpret architectural and structural plans to create accurate wall panel layouts.
- Utilize engineering software to analyze wall panel components and ensure structural integrity.
- Collaborate with engineering and projection teams to optimize panel designs.
- Calculate and apply load conditions (wind, gravity, lateral, etc.) as specified or required by local codes and jurisdiction requirements.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams including sales, production, and management.
- Support projects from design through manufacturing to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Position Type and Work Hours
This is a full-time position in Thurmont, MD. The Designer is expected to work at least 8 hours per day, Monday–Friday, with typical availability between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Start and end times are flexible.

Required Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of 5+ years of wall panel design experience in the construction industry is required, including multifamily project experience. Proficiency with MiTek wall panel software is strongly preferred. Experience reviewing and checking design work for accuracy and compliance is preferred.
