Job description
As a Concrete Finisher at Pessoa Construction Company, you will play a vital role in shaping our projects with precision and skill. This position is essential to our mission of delivering high-quality construction services while ensuring safety and excellence in every task. As a heavy civil construction company, we do a variety of different types of concrete work. Some of the concrete work we do includes, but is not limited to, sidewalks, driveway, curbs, curb & gutters, retaining walls, traffic barriers, concrete paving, box culverts, concrete for bridges
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for concrete pouring by leveling and compacting the ground.
- Pour concrete according to specifications and project requirements.
- Finish surfaces using hand tools or power tools to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Install concrete forms to shape the concrete as needed for various projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while performing tasks on-site.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Perform heavy lifting as required during concrete placement and finishing processes.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or similar role in the civil construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of concrete forming techniques and finishing methods.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and working on construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction estimating is a plus but not required.
- Basic understanding of plans related to construction projects is beneficial.
