Position Overview
Johnson Real Estate Group and HPI Property Management are seeking an experienced Remodeling Carpenter to complete residential renovation projects throughout Central Wisconsin.
This is not an entry-level laborer or basic maintenance position. We are looking for a skilled, dependable carpenter who understands residential construction and can help complete full house and apartment remodels from demolition through final finishes.
The ideal candidate can work independently, solve problems in the field, maintain high-quality workmanship, and take ownership of assigned projects. You will work on single-family homes, apartment units, rental property renovations, and other residential improvement projects throughout our growing portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete residential remodels from start to finish.
- Review project scopes and determine the labor, materials, and steps required to complete the work.
- Perform demolition, framing, drywall installation and repair, flooring, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and finish carpentry.
- Install kitchen cabinets, countertops, bathroom vanities, fixtures, appliances, and interior finishes.
- Complete painting, siding, roofing, and exterior repairs when required.
- Perform basic residential plumbing and electrical work within the employee’s experience and applicable legal requirements.
- Identify construction issues and recommend practical solutions.
- Coordinate with the construction manager, subcontractors, vendors, and other employees.
- Maintain project schedules and complete assigned work efficiently.
- Track materials and notify management when additional supplies are needed.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites.
- Protect finished surfaces and occupied areas from damage.
- Follow company construction standards, project scopes, and safety requirements.
- Take progress, before-and-after, and completion photos when required.
- Communicate project progress, delays, and unexpected conditions to management.
- Complete final punch-list items and ensure projects meet company quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Previous professional experience in residential carpentry, construction, or remodeling.
- Ability to complete multiple phases of a residential remodel with limited supervision.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, tools, materials, and building components.
- Experience with framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, doors, trim, and finish carpentry.
- Ability to read measurements, follow project scopes, and accurately lay out work.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound jobsite decisions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to safely lift and carry construction materials and equipment.
- Dependable attendance and strong time-management skills.
- Professional attitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.

- Rough and finish carpentry
- Interior and exterior framing
- Kitchen and bathroom remodeling

- Basic plumbing and electrical repairs

Work Environment
This position involves working in vacant homes, occupied rental properties, apartment units, renovation projects, and active construction sites.
The position requires regular lifting, carrying, bending, standing, climbing, and the use of power tools and construction equipment. Some exterior work may be performed in changing weather conditions.
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience, demonstrated skill level, reliability, productivity, and ability to independently complete high-quality remodeling work.

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
