We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support 2nd shift operations through CNC programming, process development, and shop-floor support. This role focuses on programming complex large-format machining equipment using Siemens NX CAM, optimizing machining processes, and collaborating with manufacturing engineers and machinists to improve quality, productivity, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM for large multi-axis machining centers, VTLs, VBMs, and turn/grind equipment.
- Verify CNC programs using Vericut prior to production.
- Develop and implement Renishaw probing routines for part validation and process control.
- Support machine setup, first-piece prove-outs, and operator training.
- Troubleshoot CNC programs and provide daily shop-floor programming support.
- Develop tooling, fixturing, and machining processes.
- Create and maintain CNC work instructions and documentation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and production teams to improve machining processes.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of CNC programming experience using a graphical CAM system.
- Experience with Siemens NX CAM (strongly preferred).
- Experience programming multi-axis milling and/or turning applications.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and shop math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience programming 5-axis CNC machines.
- Experience with Vericut simulation software.
- Hands-on machining experience with machine setup and first-piece prove-out.
- Experience with Renishaw probing, macro programming, and closed-loop machining.
- Experience machining nickel-based superalloys such as Inconel, Rene, or Hastelloy.
- Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, and Okuma controls.
- Experience with large machine tools (VTLs, VBMs, gantry mills up to 2.5 m).
