Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and develop our engineering team. In this role, you will foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement while overseeing the development of robust manufacturing processes. You will serve as a primary technical interface for customers, collaborate closely with internal sales and production teams, and drive operational excellence across our manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers; foster an environment focused on accountability and professional growth.
- Process Development: Oversee the creation and optimization of robust manufacturing processes, including detailed work instructions, tooling, and fixture designs for CNC and assembly operations.
- Customer & Technical Interface: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, supporting Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and technical product troubleshooting.
- Estimating & Sales Support: Partner with the sales team to analyze complex electromechanical RFQs and develop highly accurate labor and material cost estimates.
- Quality & Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis and execute Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives to resolve technical production issues.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Effectively manage the NPI process to guarantee seamless transitions from initial customer RFQs through to full-scale production.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive manufacturing process improvements utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.
- Strategic Growth: Participate in cross-functional corporate initiatives related to business growth, technology roadmaps, and long-term capital investment planning.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or design engineering environment.
- Leadership: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a direct supervisory, management, or leadership capacity with a proven track record of motivating teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD is required; experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems is highly preferred.
- Project Management: Proven ability to successfully manage multiple customers and concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of industry regulations, manufacturing best practices, and standard quality systems.
- Communication: Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
