Under close supervision of the Head Lifeguard, the incumbent must be fully competent in performing water rescue procedures to ensure the safety of the patrons that frequent the pool; monitor all swimmers, and enforce all safety rules and procedures. Certification and clothing reimbursement are paid at the end of the season.

*Lifeguards who teach water safety and child and/or adult swim lessons will earn an additional $2 per hour during swim lessons.* **Returning City of Fitchburg Recreation Division employees will receive an additional $.50 per hour for each year worked for the City of Fitchburg Recreation Division.**
