Position Overview
Integrated Logistics Services (ILSMD) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Aircrew Life Support Equipment (ALSE) Mechanic I to support inspection, maintenance, accountability, and readiness of aircrew survival and life support equipment.
The ALSE Mechanic I assists in maintaining mission-essential equipment used by military aircrew personnel, ensuring all assigned equipment remains safe, serviceable, and deployment ready. This position combines mechanical maintenance, inventory management, and logistics support responsibilities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesAircrew Life Support Equipment Support
- Inspect, clean, service, and maintain aircrew life support equipment
- Assist with inspection and maintenance of:
- Flight helmets and helmet accessories
- Oxygen masks and breathing equipment
- Survival vests and survival kits
- Life preservers and flotation devices
- Aircrew restraint systems and harnesses
- Chemical defense and protective equipment
- Perform operational and functional checks using approved procedures
- Identify equipment deficiencies and report discrepancies for corrective action
Equipment Maintenance & Readiness
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and servicing
- Ensure assigned equipment remains clean, functional, and mission ready
- Support equipment preservation, packaging, and storage activities
- Assist with deployment preparation and equipment issue/turn-in operations
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
- Receive, store, track, and issue life support equipment and materials
- Maintain inventory accountability and equipment records
- Assist with physical inventories and equipment audits
- Prepare equipment for shipment and deployment
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and accountability procedures are followed
Logistics & Transportation Support
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment and materials
- Prepare equipment for shipment in accordance with applicable procedures
- Support transportation and movement of equipment as required
- Operate material handling equipment when authorized
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and maintenance standards
- Maintain compliance with technical manuals and applicable regulations
- Participate in inspections, quality assurance reviews, and readiness assessments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1–3 years of aviation maintenance, logistics, supply, or related mechanical experience
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals and work instructions
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience with "Mobile Aircraft Arresting System (MAAS)". Aircraft arresting systems are specialized safety mechanisms designed to rapidly decelerate aircraft during emergency landings or aborted takeoffs, using hook-cable or net barrier systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Military aviation experience
- ALSE or Survival Equipment maintenance training
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Experience supporting Air Force aviation operations
- Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Forklift certification or experience
Work Environment
This position is performed in warehouse, maintenance shop, and operational environments with exposure to varying weather conditions, mechanical equipment, and military support operations. Physical labor and material handling activities are regularly required.
Compensation & Benefits
- $30.15 – $32.08 per hour
