Duties
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and handling ingredients safely
- Support the kitchen team by helping with setting up, maintaining and taking down buffet and/or salad bar
- Maintain cleanliness of all dishwashing stations and surrounding areas, adhering to sanitation standards and health regulations
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and boxes safely while following proper ergonomic practices
- Follow kitchen health and safety standards diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with general cleaning duties such as sanitizing surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, and waste disposal to uphold sanitation protocols
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation procedures in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate commercial dishwashing equipment effectively and safely
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items comfortably
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with kitchen tools is a plus but not mandatory
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly within a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work part-time hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
