Purpose: The Quality Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the company's Quality Management System (QMS) while ensuring all products and processes conform to customer, regulatory, and industry requirements. This position provides leadership for quality assurance activities, supports manufacturing and engineering, prepares the organization for AS9100 and NADCAP compliance, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Quality Manager Job Responsibilities (as Manager, your role is to lead these efforts):
· Lead, mentor, and develop Quality personnel while fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
· Maintain and continually improve the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.
· Coordinate and lead AS9100, NADCAP, customer, and internal audits, including preparation, execution, and corrective action follow-up.
· Oversee First Article Inspections (AS9102), inspection activities, product traceability, calibration, and quality record retention.
· Ensure products conform to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and contractual quality requirements.
· Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues.
· Monitor, analyze, and report quality performance metrics through Management Review and recommend improvement initiatives.
· Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Operations to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
· Serve as the primary quality representative for customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies regarding quality-related matters.
· Develop, maintain, and control quality procedures, work instructions, forms, and related documentation.
· Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations, corrective actions, and performance improvement.
· Promote Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, reduce waste, and enhance operational performance.
· Perform additional duties as assigned in support of company objectives.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
· 5+ years of progressively responsible aerospace quality experience.
· Experience administering an AS9100 or ISO Quality Management System.
· Experience preparing for and participating in NADCAP audits.
· Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
· Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
· Experience conducting root cause investigations.
· Experience with calibration systems.
· Strong communication and leadership skills.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
· Experience with JobBOSS or similar ERP systems preferred.
· Experience with Keyence CMM systems preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to perform visual inspections with vision that is correctable to 20/20.
· Must be able to lift 40 lbs occasionally
