Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional customer service
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts efficiently to optimize table turnover and guest flow
- Answer phone inquiries with clear communication, providing accurate information about wait times and reservation details
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, including menus and reservation logs
- Handle guest concerns or special requests with professionalism, escalating issues when necessary
- Utilize restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to track reservations and seating arrangements
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a food service or hospitality setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and clear verbal interactions
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems (e.g., Aloha POS, Micros POS)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and billing procedures
- Organizational skills to keep the host stand tidy and manage guest flow effectively
- Familiarity with food safety standards and hospitality best practices is a plus
- Experience in hotel or restaurant environments is advantageous but not required
