PLASMA TABLE OPERATOR:
Perform all tasks related to setup and safe operation of the plasma tables in a fast paced, custom manufacturing environment. Employee is responsible for operating and editing CNC code, loading and maintaining the tables, and inspecting results of work. Duties will include operating several pieces of equipment, including plasma machine and manual plasma cutting and deburring operations. All work is done in accordance to documented procedures, work standards, industry practices, and company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Perform product specific math, machine programming, and set up for all parts per drawing
- Drilling and tapping
- Setup operation of plasma tables in efficient manner
- Maintain Plasma machine which includes cleaning, lubrication, and general maintenance of the machinery
- Be able to select feed and gas parameters
- Document quality inspection
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
- Fork truck and bridge crane operation
- Perform other various shop tasks
- Follow proper operating and safety guidelines
Qualifications:
- Understanding of CNC equipment and metal handling experience required
- Ability to comprehend engineering drawings, Cartesian coordinates, and work orientation in two-dimensional space
- Understanding of technical instructions related to machine operation and programming
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to read tape measure and prior use of micrometer and caliper
- Good math skills, converting decimals to fractions
- Legible handwriting
- Possess solid troubleshooting and communication skills
Required Experience:
- Computer experience required
- Plasma Cutter: 1 year
