Duties
- Decorate cakes and pastries with intricate designs, piping, fondant, and other decorative techniques to create visually appealing products.
- Prepare cakes for decoration by leveling, frosting, and applying base layers with precision.
- Package finished baked goods carefully to maintain quality during transport and display.
- Bake frozen croissants and decorate them.
- Bake specialty cookies.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as mixing ingredients, filling cakes, and assembling desserts according to recipes.
- Ensure all food handling practices adhere to safety standards and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing customization options and ensuring customer satisfaction with finished products.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts with a strong portfolio of decorated cakes.
- Knowledge of food production, food preparation, and food safety protocols within a commercial kitchen or bakery setting.
- Skilled in cake decorating techniques including piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and edible embellishments.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as mixers, knives, spatulas, and decorating tools.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of food handling regulations and safety standards in the food industry.
