Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to dermatology patients in a physician medical practice setting.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring, medical history evaluations and MIPS/MACRA measures.
- Assist with medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform procedures such as phlebotomy, injections and procedure assistance to physicians and midlevels.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in triage and emergency response situations as needed.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care through tailored interventions.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems, EZDerm preferred or experience with Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks, or EMA.
- Experience in dermatology or plastic surgery preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10) and CPT coding for accurate medical documentation.
- Competence in dermatology techniques.
- Ability to assist with specialized procedures such as botulinum toxin treatment, aesthetic laser treatments, or other dermatology specific procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience as a certified Dermatology Tech is a plus.
- Experience with managing prior authorizations.
