Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electrical systems and equipment across various manufacturing and engineering environments. Duties
- Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures or system malfunctions to identify underlying issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Develop detailed project schedules for electrical work phases, ensuring timely completion aligned with project milestones.
- Design and modify PCB layouts for electronic components using CAD software; integrate surface mount technology (SMT) techniques for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct debugging and troubleshooting of electrical systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize performance and reliability.
- Utilize hand tools, multimeters (including ohmmeters), soldering equipment, and surface mount technology tools for assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on integrated systems involving electrical wiring, mechanical components, and automation controls to ensure cohesive operation.
- Support ongoing maintenance activities by diagnosing issues in electrical wiring or equipment using scripting languages such as Python or specialized diagnostic tools.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as the NEC (National Electrical Code) during installation and maintenance activities.
- Document all work procedures accurately in schematics, CAD drawings, and maintenance logs to facilitate future troubleshooting and upgrades.
Skills
- 5+ years experience.
- Extensive experience with electrical engineering principles including circuit design, schematics interpretation, and system integration
- Advanced electrical Systems and controls
- Expertise in project scheduling methodologies to coordinate multiple phases of electrical projects efficiently.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex electrical issues to identify solutions swiftly.
- Hands-on experience with soldering techniques for assembly or repair of electronic components; familiarity with hand tools required for precision work.
- Deep understanding of electrical systems within manufacturing environments including wiring practices, equipment repair, debugging techniques, and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as the NEC to ensure safety and compliance during all electrical activities.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to integrating electrical systems with mechanical components using Revit or MicroStation design platforms.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems setup and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately while translating them into practical applications on-site or in the workshop.
