SSCPS is looking for a Boys Varsity Soccer Coach for the FY27 Fall Season. The season begins August 24, 2026 and runs through November 20, 2026Reports to the Athletic DirectorA SSCPS Head Coach is a full-time teacher or part time employee appointed on an annual basis and delegated by the Athletic Director to perform supervisory and administrative duties essential to the efficient operation and continual development of the Athletic Program at SSCPS. SSCPS is a member of the Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Organization (MCSAO) and the MIAA.1. Uses sound and acceptable coaching techniques in all phases of the program.2.
Organizes safe and effective practice sessions and provides a safe environment at all times for athletes.3. Develops and adheres to an efficient and technically sound conditioning and injury prevention and treatment program.4. Develops in conjunction with the Athletic Director a sound system for equipment accountability.5. Responsible for distributing and collecting all team uniforms.6.
Establishes a working rapport with, and is directly responsible to, the Athletic Director7. Adheres to all MIAA, MCSAO, and SSCPS policies regarding the athletic program.8. Strives to build good sportsmanship among players, coaches, and fans.9. Models good sportsmanship and enforces sportsmanlike behavior and respect among the players at all times.10.
Coaches individual participants in the fundamental and advanced skills necessary to develop their full potential in the sport involved.11. Demonstrates ability to motivate the team and individual players.12. Instills a positive attitude towards self, team, and the sport.13. Communicates personal and program expectations to team and to individual players.14.
Develops a firm, fair, and consistent discipline system for the team and for individual players while adhering to the SSCPS procedures.15. Demonstrates a positive attitude towards and enthusiasm for the coaching assignment.16. Makes an effort to improve coaching strategies and techniques.17. Provides necessary transportation to practices and games via the school van.18.
Collects all paperwork and fees needed for the player eligibility and reinforces eligibility requirements.19. Maintains proper training and certification as mandated by the league.20. Establishes a system of communication with parents and players to address schedule changes and team announcements.21. Updates the league website and team page within 24 hours after a scheduled contest.22.
Develops a practice/game schedule that has players participating a minimum of 4 days a week (games and practices) which can be posted on the school website.23. Submits team updates and results to the school newsletter and website.24. Develop and execute team fundraisers that help sustain growth of the program.
