Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, forklifts, and tractors using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspensions, and electrical components to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
- Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and fluid replacements to prevent future issues.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Inspect equipment for safety compliance by checking hydraulic systems, HVAC systems (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and overall mechanical integrity.
- Assist in heavy equipment operation during maintenance tasks requiring heavy lifting or precise maneuvering.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately; interpret schematics for complex troubleshooting; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding service needs.
Skills
- Proven extensive mechanic experience working with heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT), OEM parts standards, and familiarity with factory repair procedures.
- Skilled in diagnostics related to automotive repair including electrical systems, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, HVAC systems, and diesel engines.
- Proficient in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
- Expertise in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; adept at using power tools and hand tools safely.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers; understanding of safety protocols during operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with a focus on safety standards. Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
