POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: ELECTRICAL, ELECTRO-MECHANICAL & ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLER

Responsible For
- Assuring that sub-assemblies, wired and assembled, function as intended and work right the first time, in accordance with drawings and instructions from supervisor if drawings appear questionable
- Completing work on time, as agreed with supervisor
- Working while keeping oneself and fellow workers safe and injury-free
- Maintaining a positive attitude and being a team player, working for the good of all; accepting instruction from supervisor and others more experienced at MB
Duties
- Under limited supervision assemble, do point-to-point wiring, and install a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical components, parts and sub-assemblies (of a non-repetitive nature) to result in printed circuit boards, power supply panels, power amplifier chasses, full-sized instrument racks, cable harnesses, etc.; work from schematics, bills of material, sketches, hand-written notes, and written & verbal instructions; may have to determine method and sequence of assembly operations; utilize small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
- Work with minimal supervision once work assignments are given and explained; ask questions to obtain sufficient instruction to perform assigned tasks; use common sense when required, as the method of assembly may not always be obvious and supervisor may not be available
- Read drawings, blueprints, electrical and pneumatic schematics, and wiring diagrams; use good judgment when dimensions or tolerances or component values seem inconsistent or unworkable; ask engineers or fellow workers to clarify; red-line drawings and bills of material to document the “as-built” condition
- Disassemble, inspect, modify, rework, refurbish, troubleshoot, reassemble & test units as required; use DVM, scope, and Variac to verify quality of work performed
- Perform necessary hand operations such as de-burring, drilling, grinding & sawing
General computer skills with Windows 7/Windows 10 operating system
- Connecting computer peripheral hardware (monitors, printers, mouse/keyboard)
- PC Computer internal hardware setup (plug-in expansion boards, or updating RAM memory, internal hard drives)
- Installing and configuring software programs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
