Position Summary
The Production Manager is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations while building a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
The Production Manager will have direct responsibility for production performance, employee development, operational discipline, and continuous improvement across the production floor.
This is not a desk job.

What You'll Do
As our Production Manager, you will:
- Lead and support daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Oversee the production workflow from scheduling and resource allocation through final completion, ensuring production targets and customer deadlines are met.
- Coach, mentor, and develop production employees through regular feedback, training, and performance management.
- Build an engaged, accountable, and high-performing production team.
- Evaluate production capacity, labor requirements, workflow, and staffing needs to support current demand and future growth.
- Establish, monitor, and communicate key production KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, quality, rework, attendance, labor utilization, and on-time completion.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, quality, and overall production performance.
- Lead root-cause analysis for recurring production, quality, and workflow issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, established procedures, and company policies.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, and cross-training to maximize operational flexibility and coverage.
- Address employee performance and accountability issues consistently, fairly, and professionally.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve quality, increase productivity, and strengthen operational consistency.
- Partner closely with Quality, Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales, HR, and company leadership to anticipate production needs and resolve operational challenges.
- Lead employees through process changes, new systems, equipment, and operational improvements while maintaining engagement and accountability.
- Identify, mentor, and develop future supervisors and team leaders.
- Support management in establishing production goals and strategies that align with company growth.
Qualifications – Required
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- 6+ years of progressive manufacturing or production experience.
- 6+ years of experience leading production teams, including supervisors, leads, or frontline employees.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proven ability to improve productivity while maintaining high quality standards.
- Experience managing employee performance, accountability, and development.
- Experience using production data and KPIs to identify problems and drive improvements.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple operational demands.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading teams of 50+ employees in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in sewing, textiles, apparel manufacturing, assembly, custom manufacturing, or other labor-intensive/light manufacturing environments.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, or similar operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience with production planning, capacity planning, labor utilization, and workflow optimization.
- Experience developing supervisors, leads, or future leaders.
