We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
- Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and medication administration processes
- Support IV infusion preparation following aseptic techniques and safety standards
- Provide patient service by answering questions related to medications and usage instructions
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication dispensing and patient interactions
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication therapy management
- Uphold compliance with all regulatory requirements related to pharmacy operations and patient safety
- Assist with medication reconciliation and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Support critical care and acute care pharmacy functions as needed, including handling specialized medications
Requirements
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license or certification as required by state regulations
- Prior experience in LTC pharmacy, hospital, or acute care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and aseptic techniques
- Experience with IV infusion preparation and sterile compounding is a plus
- Strong patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring critical thinking and precision
- Prior pharmacy technician experience in hospital or critical care environments is highly desirable
