Position: Floral Merchandiser / Contracted Route Driver
This position covers one route, one day per week. Compensation is $356.00 per completed route, paid bi-weekly at $712.00
Vehicle Requirement: Cargo Van/ Mini Van ( your vehicle will be used)
Day: Wednesday
Meeting Point: Weekly on Wednesday Mornings 7:00am (Schedule may vary during peak holidays)
Route Duration: Approximately 9 hours from Pickup ( 12 mins per stop)
Total Mileage: 240 miles
Route Details: 22 delivery stops.
Pickup Location: Champaign, IL ( meeting point )
Delivery Locations: Bloomington and Peoria, IL
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Merchandising Route Driver to manage a weekly route every Wednesday. This role involves transporting and delivering fresh florals and related products to retail locations, ensuring that displays are assembled and arranged attractively, and preparing orders for store deliveries. Effective communication and coordination with route supervisor are essential to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Using your Cargo or Mini Van type vehicle to complete the designated route.
- Meet promptly every Wednesday morning at a pre-arranged meeting point for briefing, coordination, and pick-up.
- Follow the specified route and adhere to the schedule, which takes approximately 9 hours to complete.
- Pick up product at our Champaign, IL. hub and deliver to 22 stops throughout Bloomington and Peoria, IL.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed same day.
- Unload and load products into and out of the vehicle as required.
- Accurately prepare floral orders, follow good hygiene and cleaning practices, and ensure attractive, well-organized displays at each location to enhance visual appeal and drive sales
Requirements:
- Access to a Cargo or Mini Van type vehicle with working A/C and Heat.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow a route and time schedule efficiently.
- Previous experience in merchandising or delivery is preferred but not required.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes during peak holiday periods (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day).
- Must have clean driving record and valid driver license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport goods from our hub to retail locations.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products while maintaining quality standards.
Route Management:
- Follow designated delivery routes to optimize time and fuel efficiency.
Customer Interaction:
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with store personnel and customers.
- Address any delivery issues or customer concerns promptly and courteously.
Loading and Unloading:
- Efficiently load and unload products, ensuring all items are properly secured and protected during transport.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery receipts, invoices, and any necessary documentation.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues encountered during deliveries to route supervisor.
Merchandising:
- Follow merchandising layout precisely to ensure every display is visually compelling, consistent, and optimized to maximize sales. Attention to detail directly drives customer engagement and revenue growth. Layout changes may occur with seasonal transitions or promotions. Adherence to all updated layouts and instructions is essential to ensure consistent, high-quality merchandising that aligns with brand expectations.
Inventory Management:
- Verify delivery orders using UPC labels and route sheets to ensure complete and accurate deliveries at each stop.
- Track inventory shortages or overages during your route and report them to the route supervisor at day’s end to ensure stands are merchandised consistently and correctly
Problem-Solving:
- Handle any delivery-related problems or emergencies, such as delays or vehicle breakdowns, with a proactive approach.
Communication:
- Maintain clear communication with route supervisor to provide updates on delivery status and any issues encountered.
