Position Overview
Join our kitchen and production team at Romano’s Originals — home of the original Stromboli! You’ll play a key role in preparing high-quality ingredients, assisting with dough, meats, vegetables, and fillings that go into our signature products. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on kitchen work and wants to grow their skills in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, cut, and prep vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
- Cook and season meats for production batches
- Weigh, portion, and scale ingredients accurately for consistency
- Assist with dough mixing, cutting, and handling as needed
- Prepare fillings and toppings following standardized recipes
- Operate kitchen and production equipment safely (mixers, ovens, slicers, sealers, etc.)
- Label, wrap, and package finished products for retail and wholesale
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards per USDA guidelines
- Support the team with general kitchen duties, cleanup, and organization
- Follow safety procedures and food handling standards at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food prep, deli, pizzeria, or restaurant kitchen preferred (training provided)
- Comfortable with knives, scales, and commercial kitchen equipment
- Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently as part of a team
- Familiarity with dough, pizza, or bakery prep is a plus
- Understanding of food safety and USDA or ServSafe practices a bonus
