Quality Engineer
Pay Range: $85,000–$120,000
Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. This role will manage PPAP activities, identify and resolve quality issues, support new product launches, and ensure compliance with quality systems and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage PPAP, first-off approvals, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Investigate quality issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct product and process audits and maintain control plans.
- Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, rework, PPM, and cost of quality.
- Support new product introductions and develop inspection/test procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, and MSA principles.
- Participate in FMEA and cross-functional product/process development teams.
- Manage supplier quality performance and supplier corrective actions.
- Support AS9100D/ISO 9001 compliance and lead quality audits.
- Provide quality training and technical support to production teams.
- Prepare reports and present quality performance to management and customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing and/or quality engineering experience.
- Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and root cause analysis.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Global Shop Solutions ERP is a plus.
