We are seeking an experienced PTZ Camera Operator / V1 Operator to join our growing production team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in live video production who is comfortable operating PTZ camera systems, directing camera shots, and supporting professional live broadcasts and IMAG productions.
Position Summary
The PTZ Camera Operator / V1 Operator will be responsible for operating and shading professional PTZ cameras, managing live camera feeds, assisting with video switching, and ensuring high-quality video capture during live events.
Our productions utilize Canon CR-N Series PTZ Cameras, and candidates should have experience with professional PTZ camera systems or be capable of quickly adapting to Canon's CR-N platform.
Responsibilities
- Operate Canon CR-N Series PTZ Cameras during live events
- Execute smooth and accurate camera movements using PTZ controllers
- Frame shots for speakers, performers, audiences, and presentations
- Assist the Video Director during live productions
- Operate or assist with video switchers for IMAG and live streaming
- Perform camera setup, configuration, balancing, and system checks
- Monitor video quality throughout events
- Troubleshoot camera and signal issues under pressure
- Assist with setup and teardown of broadcast and video equipment
- Work collaboratively with audio, lighting, staging, and production crews
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience operating professional PTZ camera systems during live events
- Experience working in live production, broadcast television, corporate AV, houses of worship, sports, or concert environments
- Strong understanding of camera composition, exposure, white balance, and color matching
- Ability to remain calm and perform under live event pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following is highly preferred:
- Canon CR-N Series PTZ Cameras
- PTZ controllers (Canon RC-IP100 or similar)
- Blackmagic Design ATEM switchers
- Live streaming workflows
- IMAG production
- NDI workflows
- SDI video routing
- Video shading and color matching
- Broadcast communications systems
- Event production and corporate AV environments
