The Resident Assistant provides support to the overall mission of LifeStyles and works with the Housing and Homeless Services Division. Resident Assistants are responsible for the daily operations as assigned; orderly, safe, secure, clean and respectful environment for clients, staff and volunteers.
The available shifts for this position are:
Assignment locations may vary from day-to-day or by the week. Persons should be able to stay alert throughout their shift.
Applicants for this position must possess and have a passion to serve the homeless population in a coordinated way; able to work as a team player to assist with providing persons with the services needed to support long-term sustainability.
Qualified applicants should be professional, organized, self-motivated, goal/results driven and dependable. Creative thinking skills are important, as is the ability to work in a fast, multi-task environment and willing to be flexible.
Work schedules/assignments may support programs such as: Safe Nights, Robert J. Fuller Transitional House for Men, Martha's Place, Southern Crossings, Gayle's Place, street outreach, and/or any other housing facility under the LifeStyles management.
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the Shelter Supervisor Managers; LifeStyles' leadership team to provide vital daily/weekly updates on participants;
- Provides basic administrative and receptionist services;
- Provides basic care coordination support and follow-up; completes accurate and related data input reports
- Light cooking, assists with food preparation, serving of meals to ensure nutritionally balanced and safety measures are met
- Knows and enforces rules, regulations and procedures governing the house(s) and residents
- Completes data entry and incident reports
- Assists with arrangements/transportation for participants to access community resources and services
- Assists in facilitating conflict resolution and completing written reports as needed
- Ensures masks, gloves and hand sanitizer are available; staff and participant temperatures are monitored/recorded; dispensers are filled and stationed throughout the facility
- Conducts temperature checks of persons in the assigned facilities, visitors and other staff members
- Coordinates move-in and move-out inventories; completes housing/inventory reports
- Other assigned duties
Qualifications:
- Associates degree and/or at least 1 year working experience with transient and homeless populations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive or confidential information
- Detail-oriented, punctual, has excellent interpersonal and communications skills, understands and displays courtesy, diplomacy and tact
- First Aid/CPR skills preferred
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including some evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays
- Must have own/reliable transportation, good driving record
- Must be willing to submit to criminal background, drug-screening and job assessment tests/reviews'
