Job Description Summary:
The Systems & Information Security Engineer is responsible for managing and monitoring cyber
security systems and IT infrastructure. The position is also responsible for engineering new
security and systems solutions including, but not limited to: servers, domain configurations,
workstation configurations, firewalls, VPNs, and the like. The incumbent manages day to day
operations work activity including projects as assigned.
Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
Job Specifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree preferred, or a combination of
education, training, and work experience.
Experience:
3-4 years’ experience as systems engineer, Windows system administrator, and/or network engineer
1-2 years’ experience as cyber security analyst or equivalent
Strong knowledge of PowerShell desired
Direct experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls and content filtering
Strong understanding of endpoint security solutions (ie: DLP, FIM)
License and Certifications:
Calif Drivers Class C Required at hire
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
CompTIA A+ (A+ Security preferable), or equivalent, required.
Prerequisite Skills:
Ability to work both independently and in small groups.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to communicate technology to non-technology staff.
Ability to document work flow and provide work flow analysis.
Knowledge of time management and the ability to prioritize / reprioritize tasks.
Possess strong logical, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Must demonstrate strong customer relation skills.

Duties And Responsibilities:
Essential (Not Modifiable)
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
Communicate network security issues to peers and management
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Plan, research, and develop security policies, standards and procedures
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth’s compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
