Position Summary
The Server is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience through outstanding customer service, accurate order management, and professional table service. Servers are expected to build positive guest relationships, maintain attention to detail, and work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
Essential Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Hospitality
- Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression.
- Present menus, explain menu items, specials, and beverage selections.
- Answer guest questions and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, personalized service throughout the dining experience.
- Address guest concerns professionally and assist in resolving issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times.
Order Management & Service
- Accurately take food and beverage orders while noting allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
- Enter orders correctly and communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff.
- Deliver beverages, appetizers, entrées, and desserts in a timely and organized manner.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and order accuracy before serving guests.
- Coordinate meal pacing to provide a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.
Table Maintenance & Dining Room Support
- Monitor guest tables and promptly refill beverages as needed.
- Clear plates, glassware, and used utensils throughout service.
- Reset and prepare tables efficiently for incoming guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within assigned sections.
- Ensure tables are properly stocked with condiments, utensils, and service items.
Payment Processing
- Present guest checks accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit card, and electronic transactions responsibly.
- Ensure all guest payments are processed correctly and professionally.
Opening, Closing & Side Work
- Prepare assigned stations before service begins.
- Stock supplies including silverware, napkins, beverages, and service materials.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings and daily team briefings.
- Complete assigned side work and assist with restaurant cleanliness and organization.
- Support fellow team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with private events, catering functions, and special restaurant promotions.
- Support banquet and group dining services when applicable.
- Maintain knowledge of food, beverage, wine, and cocktail offerings.
- Promote a positive team environment and contribute to overall restaurant success.
Qualifications & Skills
- Liquor License Required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
