Mechanic / Technician - Aircraft Maintenance - Torrance

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems
- Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations
- Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards, and that aircraft are ready for operation
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance
- Remove, inspect, repair, and install in-flight refueling stores and external fuel tanks
- Disassemble engines and inspect parts, such as turbine blades or cylinders, for corrosion, wear, warping, cracks, and leaks, using precision measuring instruments, x-rays, and magnetic inspection equipment
- Read and interpret pilots' descriptions of problems to diagnose causes
- Assist management in the guidance and training of Maintenance Technicians

Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
- 0-1 year of experience with an A&P license
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s)
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to train and explain to co-worker’s complex mechanical concepts
- Able to work independently and close out all assigned maintenance tasks in a safe and timely manner
- Ability to successfully work with others as part of a team to achieve established goals
- Ability to take direction and feedback; make adjustments and changes as necessary
- Ability to understand and interpret aircraft technical data and blueprints
- Physical ability to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- A passion for quality, safety and aviation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
