The Pineapple School is looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Spanish Tykes Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role focuses on creating a fun, engaging, and nurturing Spanish immersion environment where children can learn through music, movement, play, and hands-on activities.
Our teachers help foster a safe and positive classroom while encouraging children’s social, emotional, and language development through meaningful daily interactions in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and interacting with the children in Spanish, exposing them to songs, finger plays, music, and dance.
- Conducting daily supervision of children’s activities and conducting daily inspection of the environment.
- Practicing developmentally appropriate techniques and assisting with implementing the lesson plans.
- Working together with the Lead Teacher to maintain an orderly and clean learning environment (this includes taking out the trash; proper sanitizing of tables, counters, bathrooms, and toys; and organizing drawers, cabinets, and shelves).
- Assisting the children during snack and mealtimes, modeling polite manners.
- Assisting children with personal hygiene, which may include diaper changing, potty-training, or cleaning a child, and helping him/her to change clothes in the event of an accident.
- Utilizing Conscious Discipline strategies to promote cooperation, constructive problem solving, and academic success in the classroom.
- Safely lifting, carrying, and holding tykes (up to 25 pounds) for extended periods as needed.
- Sitting on the floor with tykes to attend to their needs and actively engage in play.
- Engaging children in a playful learning environment both indoors and outdoors (outdoor playtime consists of two scheduled 45-minute periods each day).
- Preparing crafts and activities for and participating in special events and celebrations such as Easter and Día de los Muertos.
- Helping in other parts of the school.
- Attending ongoing staff development activities, including our evening monthly staff meeting, and maintaining the required level of training hours (at present, 24 hours annually from the start of employment, current CPR & First Aid certification, annual child abuse training; other requirements apply for caregivers with less than two years of experience in a licensed childcare center in Texas) with documentation.
Additional training may be required by the Director based on the teacher's identified needs or deficiencies.

Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Passion for working with young children in an early childhood education setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive, nurturing, and energetic classroom environment.
- Ability to actively engage with children indoors and outdoors daily.
