Responsibilities
- Review and interpret legal descriptions, title commitments, and related documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct thorough research of public records, including easements, rights-of-way, and other encumbrances that may affect property titles.
- Prepare and coordinate all necessary documentation for closing transactions, including title policies, affidavits, and settlement statements.
- Collaborate with escrow officers, attorneys, lenders, and clients to facilitate timely and efficient closings.
- Verify compliance with underwriting guidelines and real estate laws throughout the closing process.
- Utilize mapping software and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to confirm property boundaries and legal descriptions.
- Review real estate documentation for accuracy, ensuring adherence to legal standards and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in title processing, title review, or law office settings related to real estate transactions.
- Strong knowledge of real estate law, legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and public records research.
- Familiarity with mapping software and GIS technology for property boundary verification.
- Ability to interpret complex legal descriptions and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Prior experience working with title insurance companies or law firms specializing in real estate is highly preferred.
