Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SR. Diesel Technician to working Friday through Monday to ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of heavy-duty diesel equipment. At N&W you call we haul, and to do that, we need a SR technician to run the shop on Saturday and Sunday for units returning and going out.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment to maximize uptime.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using power tools and welding techniques to meet operational specifications.
- Repair and service vehicle systems including brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems for trucks and trailers.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and equipment handling.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and quality assurance.
Experience
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment repair experience with a strong background in diesel mechanics.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair, including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC, and electrical components.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and assembly of mechanical parts.
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting automotive electrical systems and heavy machinery controls.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding apparatus.
- Experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, or similar heavy vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members or clients.

Pay: $35.00 - $42.00 per hour
