Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated On-Site Radiation Oncology Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists to develop and review treatment plans using sophisticated medical software and imaging techniques such as CT simulation and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
- Perform comprehensive quality assurance on linear accelerators and other medical equipment to maintain optimal performance and adherence to radiation safety procedures.
- Conduct detailed radiation treatment planning, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and external beam radiation therapy, ensuring precise dose calculations based on anatomy knowledge and physiology understanding.
- Oversee the operation of medical imaging devices such as CT scanners and mammography units, ensuring accurate imaging for treatment planning and verification purposes.
- Implement and monitor radiation safety protocols across all clinical activities, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) related to radiation treatments, documenting all procedures accurately while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Provide critical care support by responding swiftly to emergent situations involving radiation safety or equipment malfunction, demonstrating acute care experience when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Medical Physics, Radiation Physics, or a related field with certification from an accredited professional organization.
- Proven experience working with external beam radiation therapy, IMRT, IGRT, CT simulation, and linear accelerators in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and radiation oncology principles necessary for accurate treatment planning and safety oversight.
- Hands-on experience operating medical equipment such as CT scanners, mammography units, and other advanced imaging devices.
- Familiarity with medical software used for treatment planning, dose calculation, and EHR management.
- Demonstrated understanding of radiation safety procedures and implementing protocols to minimize exposure risks for patients and staff.
- Critical care or acute care experience is highly desirable for managing urgent situations effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a detail-oriented approach.

Pay: $116,141.60 - $139,869.45 per year
