American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a respiratory-focused unit, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year recent in specialty and an active AL or compact RN license.

42-bed Medical Respiratory Unit in a hospital setting, with an additional 8-bed respiratory step-down sub-unit

Primary patient population includes acute and chronic respiratory conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, and shortness of breath, with additional medical patients presenting with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke or surgical needs

Standard nursing ratio is 1:6; the 8-bed respiratory step-down area maintains a 1:4 ratio

Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Every other weekend required

Holiday coverage required

Floating to other units and hospitals is required

EMR system is Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

13-week contract
-
Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
-
No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed

BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted)

Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if working under their highest level of professional license

At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry required

Current driver's license required for consideration

NURSYS license verification required for consideration

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

SSN required for consideration

Patients benefit from daily interdisciplinary team rounds

No pre-start HealthStream modules required — competency-based modules will be completed during virtual orientation

Solid navy scrubs required
