ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at our Becker Plant. This position is responsible for performing routine cleaning and facility upkeep tasks throughout office, breakroom, restroom, and common areas. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works independently, and is committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. This position typically requires 4–6 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, with schedule adjustments as needed based on operational requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Cleaning Responsibilities
- Empty and dispose of garbage from:
- All offices
- Kitchen
- Breakroom
- All restrooms
- Clean and wipe down breakroom tables and common surfaces.
- Dust office furniture and surfaces in all offices.
- Clean and dust conference rooms, including tables and glass surfaces.
- Empty ashtrays in designated smoking areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all assigned areas.
Weekly Cleaning Responsibilities
- Clean the inside and outside of refrigerators in the breakroom and kitchen areas.
- Clean interior and exterior surfaces of front entrance doors and windows.
- Vacuum all offices, hallways, breakroom, and common areas.
- Mop breakroom floors.
- Restock breakroom and kitchen supplies, including:
- Plates
- Forks and spoons
- Napkins
- Restock restroom supplies, including toilet paper and paper towels/napkins.
- Wipe down office doors, glass panels, and frequently touched surfaces.
- Sweep outside office entrances and stairways to minimize dust and debris.
- Launder cleaning rags as needed.
Monthly Deep Cleaning Responsibilities
- Perform deep cleaning of the breakroom, including:
- Microwaves (inside and outside)
- Refrigerators (inside and outside)
- Tables and chairs
- Additional breakroom surfaces and equipment as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Handle cleaning chemicals according to company policies and safety procedures.
- Report maintenance concerns, facility issues, or equipment repairs to management.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Qualifications
Required
- Previous janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain confidentiality in office environments.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, or commercial facilities.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, scrubbers, or similar machinery.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning chemical handling and storage procedures.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds regularly and heavier items occasionally with assistance.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required.
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and tools.
