Part-Time Dental Assistant – Experienced
Riverdale Cosmetic Dentists is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly organized Dental Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience to join our team.
We are a modern, comprehensive family and cosmetic dental practice located in the Whitehall Building in Riverdale, NY. Our recently renovated office combines advanced technology with a warm, patient-centered approach. We provide comprehensive restorative and cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, Invisalign, implant restorative care, smile makeovers, and digital dentistry using iTero and 3Shape scanning.
Schedule – 25-40 Hours/Week
- Monday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Tuesday: Alternating weeks, 1:00 PM–8:00 PM and 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Thursday TBD
- Friday TBD
We are looking for someone who is dependable, efficient, personable, and genuinely enjoys working with patients and as part of a team. The ideal candidate anticipates the dentist’s needs, keeps the clinical day running smoothly, and takes pride in maintaining an organized and welcoming environment.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of dental assisting experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable with:
- Digital X-rays and excellent chairside assisting
- Dentrix
- iTero and/or 3Shape digital scanning for wellness, crowns, and Invisalign
- Implant restorative procedures
- Dental photography
- Current infection-control and sterilization protocols
- Instrument, operatory, laboratory, and sterilization-room organization
- Patient communication and education
- Supply tracking
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy practice are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled chairside assistance during restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, implant, and other dental procedures
- Prepare operatories, instruments, materials, and equipment for treatment
- Take high-quality digital X-rays, photographs, and intraoral scans
- Maintain proper sterilization and infection-control procedures
- Help keep the clinical schedule running efficiently and on time
- Educate patients regarding procedures and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate patient information and records in Dentrix
- Work collaboratively with our dentists, hygienists, assistants, and front-office team to provide an excellent patient experience
Compensation: $25–$34/hour, commensurate with experience and skills.
