K-5 Instructional Coach
Location: Somerset Academy Lakes Elementary
Reports To: Principal / Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Employment Type: Full-Time, 11-Month Position
Position Summary
The K–5 Instructional Coach serves as a collaborative leader dedicated to improving student achievement by supporting teachers in implementing high-quality, standards-based instruction. Working closely with school administrators and instructional staff, the coach provides job-embedded professional learning, classroom modeling, coaching cycles, and data-driven support to strengthen instructional practices across all elementary grade levels.
The Instructional Coach is a non-evaluative partner who fosters professional growth through collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with school leadership to support the school's instructional vision and improvement goals.
- Coach and mentor K–5 teachers using research-based instructional practices and effective coaching strategies.
- Model high-quality, standards-aligned lessons across content areas.
- Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) focused on student achievement and instructional best practices.
- Analyze student performance data with teachers to identify instructional needs and develop targeted action plans.
- Support implementation of Florida's Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards and district curriculum.
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, and assessment practices.
- Provide instructional support through classroom observations, feedback conversations, co-planning, and co-teaching.
- Promote effective classroom management and positive learning environments.
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring new teachers.
- Coordinate and facilitate professional development aligned to school and district initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and positive professional relationships while serving as a trusted instructional partner.
- Participate in faculty meetings, leadership meetings, district trainings, and other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Florida Educator Certificate.
- Minimum of three years of successful elementary teaching experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in elementary literacy and mathematics instruction.
- Strong knowledge of Florida academic standards, assessment practices, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience facilitating adult learning and professional development preferred.
- Reading Endorsement, ESOL Endorsement, or additional instructional certifications are preferred.

Pay: $53,600.00 - $70,000.00 per year
